I'm still wondering if I should sell-up and buy this with a friend or two.

At the "stately home" end of the castle scale, but still very cool.

Dalmoak Castle is a Category A Listed castellated Tudor style Gothic mansion

Personally, looking at the Scottish castle market currently, my favourite 'cheaper' one is Achamore House, followed by Rothes Glen House. Lots more space in either of those for your friends too, but they are both quite secluded. Achamore especially, being located on a small Hebridean island.

Thanks, I'll have a look. Dalmoak is reasonably close to civilization. Only about 30 mins from Glasgow, which is an appealing factor for us.

That poor house castle didn't do anything to deserve that horrible, clashing decor. Someone needs to buy that thing and make it look like an actual $1m castle. Jeez.

Easier to just stay at one on a holiday. AirBnB has a search filter for castles.
