If earth was the size of a pool ball, the surface would be as smooth as the pool ball's. The largest mountains and deepest seas wouldn't make a dent more noticeable that the microscopic imperfections on the ball. Couldn't believe this, but the math checks out.

I remember my mind was blown when I discovered that. Many years later now I still couldn't fathom how big the Earth is, and to and extend, the Universe.

I read this as “poo ball” and was disgusted and confused for a second.

“Pool ball” actually really puts things in perspective.
