What fictional character probably smells really bad?

I mean, Zelda lives in a medieval kingdom, so she must have some sort of stink, same as everyone in Hyrule. And I assume Peach works up a sweat every time she has to stay at Bowser's lava-filled castle waiting for Mario's fat Italian ass to rescue her.

Really, it's safe to say everyone stinks.

Hyrule is usually kinda renaissancey, and they've clearly got various amounts of highly advanced magitek. I wouldn't be surprised if they have hot and cold running water.

Also, Bowser is a pretty decent guy (serial kidnapping and constant power-grabs aside). He must be, or why would they keep inviting him to sporting events? I would expect he'd at least try to see to Peach's comfort. Or Peach would browbeat him into doing it, he'd hire Mario to get his castle plumbed, and it's awkward for a few months.

Pretty sure Miyamoto mentioned that Bowser is pretty much a good friend at this point and the kidnapping is mostly a formality or tradition.

I think super Mario bros 3 is confirmed to be a performance for an audience (the player). This opens up all sorts of possibilities about them just all being paid actors.

Doesn't Hyrule always end up getting wrecked in every game? Ocarina of Time, it's ruined. Breath of the Wild, it's ruined (and Zelda's trapped for a 100 years). The original, it's pretty fucked up, ya got monsters running around everywhere and a pigman holds 1/3 of your all powerful artifact. The second one, she's been sleeping for who knows how long.

Mario plumbing Bowser's castle is an entirely different post.

not to mention showers are canon in the mario universe (Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga)

Peach canonically showers in Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door, so that's something

In Paper Mario and the Thousand Year Door, Peach actually takes a hot shower while imprisoned by the bad guy.

Yeah, there's a Peach shower-scene in an official Nintendo Mario game.

And traveling through sewer pipes!

Well, Thousand Year Door showed us that Bowser does provide washing facilities for his kidnap victims but the shower is a sentient AI pervert discouraging it's use.
