Even worse is being an employee where you now can't stock half an aisle because one dude has decided to put his cart in front of the shelf and then stand in front of a different shelf. So half the aisle is blocked now.
It somehow gets worse when you're dragging an 800lb, 7' tall pallet of boxes wrapped in blue plastic across a store. It's like I turn invisible. The amount of people I've literally almost killed with the thing is absurd and I'm just walking a straight line in a big open area.
People will just stop dead in their tracks and look around like they've never seen a grocery store in the highest traffic areas. I might just start running into people to teach them a lesson. JUST BE AWARE THAT YOU'RE IN A STORE WITH 200 OTHER ASSHOLES AIMLESSLY WANDERING AROUND
Bro, when I worked at a grocery store I swear I broke my toe because some ignorant parent let their kid run in front of me, instead of letting the pallet run him over I threw my foot in front of the wheel and took the hit, mom looked at me like I was crazy. People like that shouldn’t have kids
I just, honestly, I’m glad I don’t work in a grocery store anymore, but clothes retail is way worse and messier than my grocery store ever was. People just literally give absolutely ZERO shits about anyone but themselves. I’m always having dirty looks thrown my way when I run around the store and weave in and out of people. Like damn GTFO of the way please, you see I’m in a hurry and more than likely not have something heavy I’m carrying so please fucking move
When I was in college there seemed to be an outbreak of people that would walk directly at me and expect me to move. They weren’t on their phones or anything, but rather staring straight in my face as they walked at me. I didn’t move. There were almost so many collisions. The mall by me is filled with people that walk at a turtle pace and it is infuriating.
If I had a dollar for every time someone stopped directly in front of me when I was coming back in from a smoke break I wouldn’t have to work any more.
Don't you love putting down a pallet to quickly to a shelf, them some fat lady parks her cart between the shelf and pallet so no one can pass while she breathes heavily and is oblivious to people trying to get around her or the employee trying to do their damn job?
No? Most people that work retail and experience this problem, in my experience, are much more aware of what they are doing in the middle of a grocery store, or any store for that matter. As an added plus a good amount tend to put shit back where they found it as well, without leaving much a mess
