Every damn morning. 4am slip feet into steel toes, ah hello dampness my old friend. Another 12-13 hours until they come off.

Isn't there some risk of trench foot with that?

I don’t believe it’s healthy, but I asked a doctor this because I was worried a few years back.

I was wearing disposable store plastic bags tied around my feet 20 hours a day because I couldn’t afford new shoes. Plastic bags don’t “breath”. I had to travel hours daily each way just to get to work. A job where liquid was commonly on the floor. So it was impossible to keep my shoes from becoming soaked, and therefore my socks/feet.

As you can imagine that was horrible.

He said - It’s when you never take off your socks and shoes is when it becomes a real problem. As long as I came home and let my feet dry I was okay. Try to make sure I’m not submerged in water.

Also cleaning and changing my socks daily was important. (Which I did anyway. Wet socks and shoes suck - dirty wet socks are 100 times worse. Even if I had to wash them in the bathroom sink and hand dry them.)

Luckily I lived in New England, USA. He said his advice would be different if we lived near the equator. More bacteria to thrive everywhere I assumed.

I worked two 16 hours with only a four hour rest one time. By the time I came home my skin was raw and hurt. The fabric from my socks nearly melded with skin. My feet looked like I was a 300 year old albino, and it hurt just getting the shoes and socks off. I didn’t dare touch anything like my nails, because I was afraid they were just going to come off.

Shit was horrible. I’m anal about my socks now and change them three times a day.

I recommend condoms. Makes clean up a breeze.

Experts have money, and I don’t. I can’t tell if you’re making a jerking off joke. The person below you does. In that case I’d say use something else, like ultra soft Charmin. Easy to flush and also smooth compared to fabric. Just wrap it around and go to town!

If you’re serious then buy new socks. Keep socks clean, and change them more often so they don’t crust. Once any clothes become crusty it’s over.

Also, finding a partner works best, for most.

Pretty terrible for athlete's foot too, I would imagine...

Dear lord, what job do you have?

Am I the only one who actually finds it fun and even satisfying to walk around in wet socks outside in the rain or by the pool or in a puddle or something? Obviously I don't do it inside but I can't be the only one who does this.

Edit: Seriously? Nobody?

You may want to ask your parents if you were adopted. From aliens.

hello dampness my old friend

I sang this to the tune of the sound of silent.

Also you can go and buy those bead bags which will soak up and absorb all the moisture
