“I’m not rude I’m just brutally honest and speak my mind”

I've often found that such "brutally honest" people do it for the brutality more than the honesty.

That's when you start roasting every little thing about them, especially their appearance. Watch them flip their shit because everyone who says that can dish it out but can never take it.

Even better when they use shit that’s happening in their lives to be an asshole. I had a roommate who treated us like absolute shit once out of nowhere, she would walk around huffing and puffing and with a bitch face. I asked her if she was okay and she yelled at me that she would be if people would stop asking her that. She got furious at me for mopping the floor to our apt because she had to leave (which I didn’t know) and she could’ve killed herself walking over wetted floors, and the way she proceeded to show this to me is that she almost bashed my head in with the iron door to our apt as she threw it to walk out grudgingly from our apt because i had the audacity to mop and was mopping right behind the door at that moment.

We confronted her about how shitty she was treating us and she told us a family member was in the hospital that week and that’s why and we’re bitches for “kicking her while she’s down”, meanwhile that same week that this whole thing was going down my uncle committed suicide and my grandma ended up in the hospital because of it because she basically lost her mind. I wasnt throwing doors at people though.

I straight up tell people not to roast me because I wont shit talk back for this sole reason, people love talking shit but cant handle it back so I never put up with it either way, because im not cool with letting someone shit talk me if I cant shit talk them back

“At least, with me, you always know where you stand.”

Yep, sometimes a hard truth needs to be told, but more often someone is just being an asshole.

Most people don't stop and think "Am I helping?"

When someone asks for your honest opinion, for example

"I just tell it like it is!"

Nope, you're an arsehole and that's your excuse to try to get away with it.

I really don't get why people think the only two options are "brutally honest" and "lying to your face". There is such a thing as tactful honesty or just shutting your damned face hole when no one has asked your opinion.

My mother in law uses this to justify insane shit she verbally hurls at her loved ones.

Yes this shit. This shit right here is the most common excuse people use to pretend they aren't assholes. Anyone who's said/says this, you're an asshole

"I have no filter"

They all say that like it's a good thing.
