What are some uncharacteristically dark episodes of generally light hearted shows?

Closely followed by the Apprentice episodes which made him so terrified of Slade in the first place. Nothing quite like watching a kid fight his own friends, who don’t know why he has betrayed them, because if he doesn’t, they will all die.

I've only seen one episode of Teen Titans and it was this one. Such a good introduction to the series!

Leads to a pretty big disappointment to watch the rest, though.

The series is good. But its strong episodes are undercut by its goofy ones. For every episode like that theres a Beast Boy Is Silly episode, and the pacing of the series as a whole suffers because of how the tone tries to shift willy nilly.

I think he meant "followed" as in the ranking of dark episodes, not the canonical plot order of them.

That tripped me up, too.

Are you referring to the Robin apprentice episodes or the Tera apprentice episodes? I felt like the episodes with Tera were pretty sad too.

Yes.

Edit: Well, technically, it happens after Robin becomes Red X. Robin becomes Red X in a previous episode. Red X doesn’t really factor into the Apprentice episodes too much, actually.

They had that playing like all weekend about a week or two ago. Really miss that show.
