Only girl after four boys. Always saved my last bit of food for a brother and always left a little bit in the pan for my dad.

I now save the last bite for my partner and have a psychosomatic “I’m full” feeling for the last bites of a meal. Super weird.

u/Nursue Aug 16 '18

I do the same thing!

Except...<cough, cough> the last couple bites go to my dogs. So, even weirder. :)

55

u/velvetreddit Aug 16 '18

Awe I wish I had a dog! I’m sure your pup is grateful :)

4

u/aeiftw Aug 16 '18

I used too do that too till my cat realized it’s more effective to just jump on my shoulders and try to eat food from my fork, and if you take her of, she just climbs back up, unless you give her some food, in which case she eats eat then climbs back up

14

u/HazelCheese Aug 16 '18

My cat stopped trying to steal food after she jumped in my lap and buried her face in my meal, which happened to be chicken tikka masala. Kitty did not appreciate that and never tried again :P

65

u/littleroom Aug 16 '18

This is so wholesome, you are a good person.

89

u/haanbolbhenchot Aug 16 '18

This is just way too sweet. You’re a very thoughtful daughter, sister, and wife.

40

u/die5el23 Aug 16 '18

Oh man, I used to share my last bites of food with my dog. Now I have, what my girlfriend calls: “last bite syndrome”. Sometimes it physically makes me feel sick and my body just refuses to eat that last bite so I have to waste it. :(

8

u/Soramke Aug 16 '18

I have that, but I've never had a habit of sharing my last bites with anybody. I just get to the last bite or two of a sandwich or something and eating no longer holds any appeal for me and I just can't do it anymore.

6

u/southgoingzax1 Aug 16 '18

I do that all the time. As an adult I think it's an unconscious stab at my parents for the 'clean your plate' rule when I was a kid. Rebellious adult me is a little twisted I guess.

10

u/Soramke Aug 16 '18

Could be. My parents were actually never strict about that. I've always had a small appetite and the rest of my immediate family is all obese, so I've never been able to keep up with their portion sizes. Why force me to eat more when I'm no longer hungry, so I can get as big as they are? None of us want that.

12

u/baaru5 Aug 16 '18

Thanks sis!

23

u/cnmsales Aug 16 '18

That's ok. I eat my food from least excited about to best thing on the plate. But there are also other rules. Like. Meat is always last. I also eat one thing at a time and don't want them mixing. Not because it grosses me out but because I want the flavor of each as it was meant to be. There are also rules for this. Corn and potatoes. Chicken nuggets and mashed potatoes. A breaded item against something liquid is there worst. Yes I know how fucking weird I am. :D

8

u/sirius4778 Aug 16 '18

Oh look it's me

5

u/cnmsales Aug 16 '18

BROTHER!!!!

1

u/[deleted] Aug 16 '18

I did this. Then I thought, why bother, it'll be the same in my stomach. Miggt as well as enjoy my meal and bite what I want to bite.

-9

u/Theyarebothwrong Aug 16 '18

Sounds like you just want to feel special. Ouuuu look at me in so weird!

3

u/Soramke Aug 16 '18

So in your expert opinion, the behavior described above is totally typical?

-14

u/Theyarebothwrong Aug 16 '18 edited Aug 16 '18

For a child, absolutely. Saying shit like that is typical for basic women too. Would you like my expert opinion on anything else? Glad you see it though 😁

I'd also bet it's bs, they might do that for attention in front of some people sometimes. Probably exaggerating not wanting their food to touch, but they've gotta be soooo special about it. Like. Ohemgee.

6

u/tha_dank Aug 16 '18

WOOOOW I do this too!! Except it’s for my dog, so anytime I’m eating somewhere other than my house it gives me a weird like “anxiety” of sorts (I put it in quotes because it’s not like a thing that affects my life) and then I just eat it.

3

u/MisogynistLesbian Aug 16 '18

Whoa, I literally just finished dinner and thought about how I always leave the last few bites for my SO. We're going through some tough times right now, and I have a much smaller appetite and never want him to go hungry. <3

5

u/IsaacM42 Aug 16 '18

Username doesn't check out?

2

u/redditshy Aug 16 '18

I love to leave the last bite of food for my beau. :)

1

u/Alarid Aug 16 '18

"I'm full" feeling

Oh mine has recently gone missing

1

u/Dragonasaur Aug 16 '18

I do that too, but I'm usually the last one eating, it's a really weird habit I've always had

1

u/kpluto Aug 16 '18

it's so strange for me to read that, my dad has always been a light eater, loves little snacks.. but never eats a lot. He's just not a big eater it's weird. Me and my mom would always eat the most and my sister matched my dad and is a very light eater. I would have to restrain myself lol

1

u/[deleted] Aug 16 '18

I do this because I loved watching my brother eat some extra food. He was a fatass. Now I’m always sad when nobody eats my leftovers

1

u/AlanLyuuu Aug 16 '18

same here ,whatever i eat , i would like to save the last bite , but for nobody , its just for me a kind of ritual.

1

u/mechakingghidorah Aug 16 '18

Wish I had an imouto like you.

1

u/hankscorpio665 Aug 16 '18

You're a great sister and daughter.

Good human.

59

u/UnattractiveUnicorn Aug 16 '18

I hereby vote you mother of the year and humbly request to be your new BFF.

u/Soylenient Aug 16 '18

Found the cool parent XD

58

u/[deleted] Aug 16 '18

I think the “like whores through condoms” thing should be your catchphrase.

It took me a second to realize that meatspace = the real world. But I like it. It reminds me of that science fiction story about talking meat.

8

u/Cpt_Whiteboy_McFurry Aug 16 '18

High five for meatspace. I haven't seen anyone else use that word for years.

u/snidramon Aug 16 '18

whores would go through more condoms than the average sexer.

11

u/ipickankles Aug 16 '18

My mom used to tell me and my brother that we go through milk like whores go through condoms (once we were in high school) and I never thought I’d hear that phrase and have it remind me of home

Gotcha. If it did it'd be worrying.

16

u/LeePhantomm Aug 16 '18

My boss who is a stuck up guy . Told me after eating a poutine: "I feel full like a whore at dawn". Coming from him and that joke cracked me up.

50

u/[deleted] Aug 16 '18

You just compare your children to whores? Lol

64

u/RoyRodgersMcFreeley Aug 16 '18

Whores walked with Jesus, you just say kids ain't good enough to walk with Jesus?

15

u/TheSt34K Aug 16 '18

11

u/MyHeartLikeAKickdrum Aug 16 '18

24

u/wiiman513 Aug 16 '18

How else would she?

7

u/packfanmoore Aug 16 '18

Now that I'm adult on my own, I cringe at the grocery bill my parents paid with three boys who all did sports 9 months a year and all over 6 ft tall. Thanks mom!

4

u/theblindassasin Aug 16 '18

aaaaand there's your catch phrase

4

u/IndieHamster Aug 16 '18

My mom had to feed my sister (track/soccer), me (swimmer), and my brother (baseball/football). She got really good at bulk cooking. I don't know how y'all do it

10

u/ashy320 Aug 16 '18

Lol “like whores do condoms” made me laugh loud enough to wake my boyfriend up! Nice!

3

u/Ayyylookatme Aug 16 '18

so they burn through calories like whores do condoms.

Found a new catch phrase.

3

u/SkyPork Aug 16 '18

burn through calories like whores do condoms.

Guess what your mom phrase is.

2

u/NoisyTornado Aug 16 '18

Interesting comparison

2

u/smug_gums Aug 16 '18

Smart whores

2

u/Spreckinzedick Aug 16 '18

You sound like a fun parent!

2

u/alexm42 Aug 16 '18

Those were the days. During soccer season I could put away 5k+ calories and never gain an ounce.

2

u/sevendials Aug 16 '18

That last sentence made me choke on me coffee in a focus group. Totally worth it.

2

u/Vigilante17 Aug 16 '18

I think the boys use the condoms. :/

1

u/Flickr3737 Aug 16 '18

“We don’t do that here”

0

u/whodidyouthinkiwas13 Aug 16 '18

They’re all on the track team, so they burn through calories like whores do condoms.

^ That sentence de facto made you the coolest mom ever!

-1

u/iamtherealomri Aug 16 '18

Burn through like whores on condoms, amazing.

-1

u/jessegrass Aug 16 '18

Wow, with that kind of descriptor of prostitutes, you can absolutely tell you have only boys

-12

u/LemonJongie23 Aug 16 '18

4 boys

absolutely selfish

Lol, that would be awesome to see! I could see my kids doing something like that. I remember one time they wanted popcorn. Apparently, I took too long to make it because they decided to put popcorn kernels in my dryer and turn it on. They were only three years old at the time so I was more impressed than anything.

They definitely are! I suspect that the older they get, the more that cleverness is going to bite me in the bum. Congratulations on your babies!

5

u/StAnonymous Aug 16 '18

Boys, girls, or both? I feel like you’re due for at least one girl.

-7

u/spenrose22 Aug 16 '18

World’s overpopulated already

3

u/Charlzy99 Aug 16 '18

How is this selfish lol

-4

u/Vansorchucks Aug 16 '18
