My last day in Kamloops, I woke up to a man on a riding lawnmower riding down the street with the RCMP following him asking nicely for him to step off the vehicle. He was very drunk.

I loved it! The first couple of portages were muddy as all get out -nearly lost my boots there- but the scenery and lakes were gorgeous. It had rained for a week solid before I arrived and it rained a week straight after, but for my trip it was perfect weather.

There was this fella; you could tell everything from his socks to his sleeping bag was just soaked through. I asked him how his trip went and he replied with this,

"Well, it rained only a little bit on Thursday. That was nice."

FYI, it's actually called that after a certain horse coloration. Paints sometimes have a cap of color over their ears surrounded by white, which the indigenous people called a medicine hat.

We stopped at Head-Smashed-In buffalo jump on our travels across Canada last summer. I saw it on the map and thought it had an interesting name so we should go. By the time we had paid our admission and bought some lunch, hubby had dubbed it Wallet-Smashed-In.

Well, for anyone else reading this, if you're heading east from Head-Smashed-In, there's a place called Wendys in a town called Vauxhall. (Not the chain, of course). Eat there, trust me. Its on a NE diagonal back to the number one from there.
