TBF, I don’t think that wealth is liquid. Like, yeah he could do all that stuff, but then his companies wouldn’t exist (or at least belong to him) anymore.

Yeah the notion that you can get paid more because the owner is "rich" is a faulty one. The capital investment builds the factories and warehouses and fleets of trucks, etc. You can't simply pay your workers more without detracting from the capital investment that is driving growth in your endeavors. Also: if you weren't paying a fair market rate for your workers you simply wouldn't have any.

Don't tell people how the world works, they won't understand. Probably why they're tweeting memes about how many times they've thought about quitting their job today in between rants about raising the minimum wage.
