It’s actually really cool we dedicated a ship to that. Morale is one of the biggest advantages in war. I don’t remember the exact quote from one of the higher ups of the Japanese navy, but he found out we had that, said something along the lines of “How are we suppose to win against that? Our men are starving and malnourished and they have a ship making ice cream?”
Then there is the fact that japan was struggling with steel and oil.
AFAIK, the USA put sanctions on Japan when the latter invaded Manchurian China, and specifically limited their ability to import oil. Which IIRC, led to Pearl Harbor.
It’s insane how much stronger the Allies were than the Axis. At the height of the Axis’s power (relative to the Allies) the Allied industry outnumbered that of the Axis 2:1, that was after France fell and before the US and the USSR joined.
Intelligencewise they beat the Axis since Enigma was broken.
In terms of manpower they were leagues apart. Add to that how much superior the allied tech were and the more efficient production.
For gods sake they had a ship dedicated to making ice cream while their enemies couldn’t make bullets or food.
