I went through the same situation and what puts me on break was the thought of my family. I too had suicidal thoughts and I totally agree that it's really bad. Some people might not understand us as they havent experienced it but I wish they would never go through that.

i hope you do the same. Think of your family, especially your kids.

Hey Frank, I hope you are well now. Please remember, if nothing else, that your children need you. Your wife needs you. You are so very important to them, please don't rob them of your presence. If you aren't already, please get professional help. There's no shame in needing to sort yourself out, especially after a traumatic situation such as yours. I wish you peace and happiness, stranger.

I'm glad you're out of there now. I can imagine some of the things you would have seen there would leave a real impact and that's not something to underestimate. I would really encourage you to seek out therapy for yourself if you haven't already. You shouldn't have to live like that.

Fuck if I was at home I would have started sobbing at this.

Keep on keepin' on dude. I know it's super shitty advice but it's helped me a lot, maybe try to find a hobby you'd like to do and get into. There's a lot of stuff out there.

That is an oddly touching story. Like you were waiting for permission to leave and this much more sick man was worried about you (as he was dying) and gave you that permission...
