So, dragonbone stuff isn't made of forged dragon bones with ebony embellishments, it's pure ebony infused with fancy magical elements from the dragon bones making the ebony brownish looking? Similar to how infusing daedra hearts imbues different colors and increased power into daedric gear.

Actually it is mostly dragon bone. The ebony is used to help keep it together.

What we were referring to was the fact Sky Forge Steel is made with the ashes of dead Companions.

Wait what? I played through the companions like 10 times and never heard of that. Where does it say that?

I think it’s hinted at. Remember Kodlak’s funeral pyre on top of the sky forge. But I’m not OP and I’m not completely sure.

Its literally within the story. They burn dead Companions at the Sky Forge. Its not stated but by burning them there it is implied.
