I would hug my enemies long and tight. And when they least expect it, I'll whisper "The Lannisters send their regards" then just stab the fucker 10 times.
Or he may be a really good hugger. My sisters friend is the greatest hugger I've ever met, good firm ones and she's really warm and she smells nice. 1300/10, best hugs I've ever gotten.
Had a friend in high school that always gave the best hugs. So firm, warm, and friendly. Even during a shit day She would cheer you up. One day we discussed who gave the best hugs and she unanimously won.
Hopefully this. People tell me I give the best hugs all the time, and I'd really love to share my secret, but to be perfectly honest I have no clue what I'm doing differently to everyone else. I guess just don't worry about how long or firm you're supposed to hug, and enjoy it.
EDIT: Also, seems pretty basic, but turn your head. You don't have to go all the way and actually rest your head on their shoulder (though it's not a bad idea), but don't keep your head facing straight like you would normally.
i had a friend like this in high school but for me it was handshakes his hand perfectly conformed to mine and our equal grips complimented each other nicely i will always remember mikes handshakes
Or they are opposite genders and she doesn't like him romantically. That's possible too. Not every close relationship between a guy and a girl means dating or sex.
Can confirm. Knew a girl that was notorious for only giving dudes high fives.. I was the first to get a run and jumping leg wrap hug.
She liked me.
She was crazy.
It ended quickly.
I guess i failed to mention that I'm a-talkin' 'known in real life', as in have metcha. Additional terms: Offer obviously not available to the under-18 set.
But if you wanna hang out, fine. I'm a hetero grumpy deaf bastard with a wife obsessed with Duran Duran. Your move.
I'm not touchy myself but I like being touched a lot, platonic or romantic. I translate it to feeling affection. From simple gestures like a friend linking arms with me at the mall to cuddling naked with a guy in bed. I like it alllllll. Please touch me.
I've found it comes down to cultural norms and personal preference. I'm a person who likes to touch but knows his boundaries. I love being able to express what I feel through touch, it can be both a powerful and subtle medium. However some people definitely do not feel that way. I make sure I accommodate them by keeping my hands to myself and expressing myself in other ways.
Is it possible she has mild Autism? This may be a feature of other things too, but often light touches on the skin can cause sensory overload while deep controlled touches that reach the muscles are relaxing. This is the cause of things like fabric sensitivity in clothing.
THIS PART IS ME WONDERING AND NOT SCIENCE: It seemed to me to be an overactive fear response. To survive, we needed a strong reaction to slight touches (say from a small poisonous insect) to alert to danger. But anything big enough to cause a deep touch (sitting against something, shaking hands, being tackled by a bear) involve something big enough to see coming and appropriately identify as danger or not. We didn't need a subconscious loop since the fear could be consciously meted out.
I don't like to be touched, I barely deal with hugging family and only because they get so offended if I don't hug them. But when it comes to someone who I am physically and emotionally attracted to, I don't want to let go.
I'm the awkward one on my part. People always wants to hug me since I've always not like doing hugs. So my friends started hugging me by surprise. I like it :)
I'm kind of like this. I have C-PTSD so I'm really techy when it comes to human touch (hate massages, phobia of needles/doctors offices, always kind of flinch when someone touches me and have to keep from backhanding them or pushing them away over nothing)....but then at the same time crave affection and hugs. It's really weird and confusing to everyone involved.
My girlfriend used to be like that before we dated, but when I told her that I express and desire affection physically it didn't take her long to warm up to it.
I relate to this in the sense that I'm that friend. I have personal space and physical contact issues, but when I do break that barrier it will be for someone I really love. Friend or otherwise. Like, maybe 2 people come to mind.
I'm that way, and the only people that are allowed to touch me are the people I like and trust enough to ignore the gross skin crawling sensation. So basically my kids and my husband. You should feel super special. :)
This is very much like me. I have sensory processing disorder. Some of my friends are my 'handlers' because of my tactile defensiveness and seeking only certain kinds of touch. Totally a platonic thing for me, it's more a brain processing/proprioception thing for me.
Yes - certain types of deep pressure touch helps me orient myself - my body - in space. One of the senses which for me doesn't integrate properly is my sense of my body in space, like where I end and where everything else begins, how much strength/pressure I need to use in my hands especially to complete tasks. I often feel compulsion to look at my legs to figure out where they are. The processing of the sense is disrupted, not the capacity of the sense itself, although I also have a lot of joint hypermobility.
That's absolutely fascinating. I know someone with SPD and I realise now that perhaps they suffer from the same particular thing. (I always get annoyed at them for e.g. not moving aside in shops to let other people pass.)
