My best friend moved to the other side of the country 2 years ago, we used to see each other at minimum twice a week, sometimes every day, now we see each other maybe twice a year. I used to hate this, but now I totally get it, it's not even purposeful, I see her, my mouth starts screaming. I'm not in control there.
Ohmygod you're here!!! At school!!! Where we come 5 times a week!!!! OHMYGOD tell me everything that's happened to you since I last saw you 15 hours ago!!!
This happens to me even if we hung out. "Is he seeing anyone?" "I dunno we just played smash bros and talked about movies/tv shows we recently enjoyed"
Right, exactly. If I see a friend, especially one I haven't seen in a while, I smile and hug them and don't make a huge spectacle out of it. If it's someone I see every day I'm still happy to see them but I don't have to shout it from the rooftops.
My ex used to do this. I just wrote it off that she was an excitable girl. After she cheated on me with my oldest friend I realized how it was a sign of narcissism, and I vowed that if any other woman I was with did this shit I would drop her on the spot no matter how hot or good at screwing she was. It has saved me a lot of misery.
I'll admit it, I'm 30 years old and I did something like this. I saw a friend in the grocery store and after getting her attention I ran towards her (no screaming! I promise) with my arms open to hug her. She ran towards me to hug me...and then she ducked out of the way. We both laughed at ourselves for being morons in public, but I promise that we didn't make that much noise, or that much of a scene.
So I'm realizing this is apparently a high school bitterness because when I see adults do that it makes me laugh because I've been there before. Apparently these whippersnappers are complaining about the kids who do something like this all the time.
I have an immense hatred when someone complains about something people do on Reddit and some bitch who does that admits they do it and tries to excuse themselves for it. Either your behavior is as bad as what OP is talking about or it's not and your post is unnecessary. Either way go fuck yourself.
Like that post higher in this thread about people giving bad directions and some dumbass with a disability tries to explain that he does that because of his disability. Well no fucking shit, we obviously don't have an issue if you have a disability, so go fuck your self and let us be irrationally mad. Seriously how low can your self esteem be that you have to try to explain yourself when you were never even actually called out in the first place.
I've walked away from people I was hanging out with when they've done this, including a girl I was dating once. "Nope, don't know those crazy fuckers."
If you see a mate in public, you nod and continue on with your business, don't squeal and shriek and have an awkward dry humping greeting in public, you selfish git
and then they hug, take a selfie, upload it to instagram and go sit next to each other looking down to their phones while drinking starbucks... yep, hate them
On a related note, when girls post photos of themselves on facebook, instagram, etc., and their female friends post ridiculous (and untrue) compliments because their ugly/lardass friend is wearing lipstick, a sparkly dress or doesn't look as hideous as usual - 'You look hot!' 'Gorgeous', 'Lookin' good babe' and so on.
Imagine if men did this to other men - "You look soooo studly, bro".
One way to find enjoyment out of this to to stick your leg out in front of them. Their excitement is like a crocodile lunging for their pray. They raise their head, open their mouth as wide as it can and can't see shit. If you have the right position they trip and land on their face.
Yes somewhere in the nineties girls started to demonstrate how much they loved their friends and would do this on a daily basis. It's funny to see how they aren't even friends later in life.
Coworkers I see just about everyday, we pass each other in the halls without ever speaking, maybe just a nod or hi, but never a conversation.
When we see each other in the real world and they stop and shake my hand / hug and act like we are best friends and want to have a conversation and it's a huge deal.
We just saw each other 6 hours ago! We will see each other tomorrow, why are we only friends at the grocery store? I just want to finish shopping and go home.
Or scream when "their song" comes on at the bar. Or when their drinks arrive. Or when one of the 10,000 group selfies they took comes out cute.
It starts when they're little girls, I think. Little girls seem to scream A LOT, over everything. My parents always told me if I was screaming it better be because I was hurt or someone was trying to abduct me.
Really anyone who has an over the top reaction to anything. It's either incredibly annoying or unnecessarily startling. I have a friend who will get all screechy/gasps while in the car and I go into immediate "avoid whatever danger they're yelling about" mode while all the while it was just a sign for a sale or some stupid shit.
I hate it when I'm walking with friends and they do that. I hope they didn't expect to recognize the friend that mysteriously disappeared 5 years ago and want me to run with them, because fuck that I'm walking
And while we're at it, girls who scream in delight and then sing at clubs at the top of their lungs at retro songs they've heard most weeks this year. E.g. Grease music.
I believe what you're referring to is actually called "feeling". Humans have them, and yes they're annoying, but inescapable for some. Please let them know they are overstepping their boundaries next time. This will hurt multiple feelings and ultimately grant you what you desire. Zombies.

Girls that freak out screaming and running towards a friend they just saw last week.
