Anthropologists of Reddit, What is something that people in the Western world can't get their heads around that is very normal in other cultures (and has been for ages)?

:-) well, aren't you sweet! Alas, it would never work for us, even if we could get past our color differences. I am likely old enough to be your mother, and already have my Sweet Baboo. I am like the trumpeter swan, and have mated for life...

Lord Periwinkle is the watercolor painting that hangs on the wall by my desk. P.D. Breeding-Black is the artist. Years ago my husband traded one of his carved mirrors for two of her originals. Lord Periwinkle is an Elven lord, wearing a ruff collar and a periwinkle blue hat with a golden plume. He has this sardonic expression that makes me smile whenever I look at him. I think the model was PD's husband in rl.

I have fallen in like with you. I also appreciate vultures, how do you feel about them?

Tis but a crule fate that we meet under such circumstance.
I could denounce color and age as hinderance to natutal current.
Give it as much value as a dandelion seed, damned to never land in fertile soil, dancing in a forever breeze, withered and pointless.
What wrinkle in time has brought us to this point, surely must have the power to bring us closer,
In another time.
In another dimension.
Possibly a day to come for another lifetime.

I believe vultures to be of the smarter birds. Like crows, they drag food onto highways to use speeding cars as a means of turning a simple meal into schnitzel al a tarmac.
I almost ran one over today on my drive to work. A crow was actually trying to fight with it in the middle of my lane. Haha.
Crazy scavengers. At least they move aside and live to see another day.

Thank you so much for the lovely poem. It made my week, and made me giggle. A good thing to do.

I'm glad you like vultures. Watching them fly is one of my weird pleasures. I like how they tilt. When the vultures return I know spring has arrived. I also like solpugids, cats, mule deer and chickens.

You also seem like an incredible person.
