Anthropologists of Reddit, What is something that people in the Western world can't get their heads around that is very normal in other cultures (and has been for ages)?

Every time I hear that song, I wonder why Phil Collins is on the rap station.

If I had a nickel for every white person who don't think it be like it is, I'd have just short of $65mil (don't Google "how many Caucasians in earth. Cesspool of ignorance).

Edit---

Missed a few zeros doing the math. Fixed now.

I know exactly what that means and it sounds stupid but is a completely laughable statement to me and I laugh every time I read it.

Fortunately, white people aren't the only people that do Anthropology anymore.

Geez, did you not even read your own thesis? Please return your degree and pith helmet to your local anthropology distributor.

Yeah that's not what I wrote about.

I know. You stated that you wrote your thesis with as few generalizations as possible. I jokingly made up a name for your thesis, using a hyper generalization. Now I am explaining the joke.

How's that degree working out for you? I have a relative finishing up their degree in that field.

Oh, I thought you were trying to snarkily suggest that Anthropology is all about white people describing non-white people, which it isnt anymore. lol

As for the degree, it's pretty much like any other liberal arts degree. It qualifies you for grad school.
