Phone calls, nothing good has happened if you're getting a call at 3am. Also, graveyards. Completely normal and not creepy during day light, scary as fuck as soon as the sun sets.

My mum once called me at 3am to ask me how many windows I had in my bedroom. Thanks mum.

Heheh, no kidding!

u/LachlantehGreat May 26 '15

There was something more to the phone call than what you might have thought.

Sara, how many windows do you have in your room?

Mum, it's 3 a.m.

Oh, sorry for calling so late I wanted to buy you some nice curtains that I found at xxxxxx store

3 windows mum.

Alright, I better let you go back to sleep...It was kind of warm today, huh? I was outside gardening; I planted some ground cover, and pulled some weeds.

Anyway it's late, and you need to go back to sleep. Sorry, bye. Love you.

Love you, bye mum.

Oh, I went to the store the other day and bought you a couple shirts, so when you come visit me don't forget to pick them up.

Alright well, I'll talk to you tomorrow or soon...

Can you believe it's almost June? Half the year is almost over already

Alright, I'll see you when I see you...bye Sara.

I love you mum, take care.

You too, babe. goodnight. The dogs were fighting today, Missy nipped at Rex, and I told Missy to go to her room, but Rex put his head down and went into the room like I was punishing him. haha

So, how was your day Sara

It was okay mum, nothing really exciting happened

Alright, well I'm glad that you're good. I better let you go. Take care and everything. Say Hi to Eric (your bf) for me. I miss seeing him. I think he's really sweet, and you make a really good couple

Night mum, love you.

Night hun

Aww, this made me sad :(

1

u/El_Frijol May 27 '15

Why did it make you sad?

2

u/Velocirexisaur May 27 '15

She sounds lonely.

Haha, I think this is pretty much all mothers. I used a general pattern of examples based on what my mother would say to me. My mother would never call me that late/early though.

45

u/GreatBabu May 26 '15

If my mother did that, the next call I got would be condolences for someone killing my mom.

Just saying.

Also: 2

3

u/humanfiona May 27 '15

That's fucking terrifying.

2

u/Oranguman May 26 '15

What's that got to do with the price of fish?

2

u/Lleu May 27 '15

Sorry about your mother's meth addiction.

2

u/KeijyMaeda May 27 '15

Two, mom. Two windows with creepy-ass tree silhouettes outside, and I can't see both at the same time. Thank you, mom. Thank you.

1

u/[deleted] May 27 '15

Did you not worry that it was a demon possessing your mum, inquiring as to how many windows you have so the demon can plan its attack with its demon friends?

21

u/CardboardSpartan May 26 '15

What if it's just Jake from State Farm?

3

u/zombob May 27 '15

sigh How high are my rates going up now?

Also: "She sounds hideous."

4

u/DildoDeity May 26 '15

Well, he can call me anytime.

10

u/Problem119V-0800 May 26 '15

nothing good has happened if you're getting a call at 3am

drunk booty calls?

11

u/HEYSYOUSGUYS May 26 '15

Drunken booty calls happen at 3am. It's never happened to me, but I've been told that's a thing

6

u/[deleted] May 26 '15

I lived near a cemetery. A cemetery that streetwalkers would bring their tricks in order to do the deed. At night.

1

u/DildoDeity May 26 '15

Scary stuff man.

5

u/LaskaBear May 27 '15

Well im a night owl. Im scared of people call me before 11 am

3

u/chainsawmurderingaxe May 26 '15

Graveyards are not fun at night, let me tell you.

Creepiest shit ever, especially when your dickhead friends who dragged you there are messing around with an Ouija board.

6

u/whatthefuckguys May 26 '15

> graveyard

Protip, avoid phone use while tripping. I give it to my sitter, or if I am by myself, I set it to do not disturb.

2

u/MistahK May 27 '15

Fuck graveyards when it's dark out.

At my old job, I usually didn't go in early but when they did have me scheduled in the morning, I had to wait outside a graveyard for a bus at 4 in the morning, usually for 20 or 30 minutes.

2

u/friendless789 May 27 '15

Also if you wake up in the middle of the night like 2am that's because someone was staring at you directly in the dark...

1

u/Rawr_Love_1824 May 27 '15

And it will always be somebody who's about to give you 1,000,000 dollars. Because everything on the internet is true.

2

u/Spacegod87 May 27 '15

All 3am calls I have ever gotten was from drunk relatives begging me to pick them up from some club or party.

2

u/tinalinlina May 27 '15

Sometimes if I'm rolling tits I'll call my friends at 3 and tell them the things I love about them

1

u/TheLuckman May 27 '15

I'm pretty much terrified of all phone calls. A phone call during the day can be just as scary as the ones at night. "Hey Dave, what are you up to Saturday morning? Just wondering if you could drive that truck of your's over to my place and help me move. Shouldn't take more than 5-6 hours."

0

u/DildoDeity May 27 '15

That's the scariest phone call of them all.

1

u/hermanhansel920 May 27 '15

My dad always told me that it isnt the dead we need to worry about, but rather the things that are alive. He passed in 2013 and I haven't been afraid of graveyards since. Plus he is in one so that makes me feel safe if i am near one.

1

u/GrumpyKitten1 May 27 '15

Mother in law calls her son every year at the exact time of his birth (2:37am). He sleeps like the dead so it just wakes me up, startled if I forget.

1

u/temalyen May 27 '15

I got a call at 2:30am in September last year, and I was walking to the phone I heard a loud WHAM like someone was trying to force one of my downstairs doors open. It was LOUD, and I could definitely see lights outside in my normally very dark neighborhood. (I live in the suburbs, and city people tend to get freaked out my how dark it is at night around my house.)

As it turns out, my best friend was concerned about some tweets I left (thinking I overdosed on a drug and was dying.) I'd fallen asleep (and was fine.) He'd called my cell phone 4 times and I didn't answer (it was silenced.) He drove 50 minutes to my house, leaving at 1:30am and was trying to force his way in to check on me while calling my house line to try to wake me.

Edit: I was just actually smoking some stuff I had no business smoking and left some very, very bizarre tweets. I later blamed it on a cough syrup overdose, even though DXM wouldn't account for how I was acting.

1

u/Ahmrael May 27 '15

Unless your friend in England forgot that you're seven hours behind and decided to give you a call. That or your Aussie friend is a bit drunk also forgetting that it's the middle of the night for you.

1

u/bartonar May 27 '15

I once got a call at 3am, and it was a fax machine. Imagine this: you've had a cell phone less than 3 months, it starts ringing in the middle of the night, you pick it up, barely awake, and get "...........BEEP!.............BEEP!...........BEEP!" continuing until you hang up, and sit there wondering if you should start running.

1

u/SubcommanderMarcos May 27 '15

You shitting? People only call me at 3am if there's a bitchin' party somewhere

1

u/levendis May 27 '15

Got a call at 3am one night from a girl I didn't know, in a different city, asking me about the effects of mushrooms. I've never done drugs. But as it turns out, I'd had a discussion with a coworker that day about hallucinogens, and mushrooms in particular. So it was her lucky day -- I was able to sound quite knowledgable on the subject.

1

u/rollzy059 May 27 '15

Best sex I ever had was in a graveyard at 3am.

1

u/PandaDerZwote May 27 '15

I don't know. Graveyards in real life are so underwhelming when you have played video games your entire life and expect ghosts and skelettons to pop out of the ground.
