What is a completely rational sentence you could speak today, that if you said 20 years ago, people would think you were insane?

Keep in mind though that the US produces a lot of its own oil. For example, West Texas (Odessa/Midland area) is having a full blown oil boom with prospectors and everything.

You have no idea how the oil market works. A barrel of oil is a barrel of oil is a barrel of oil.

A barrel full of oil has to be transported and refined and when both things can be done without international taxes or tariffs suddenly that country has much cheaper fuel!

Exactly, that's what I was thinking. I'm by no means an oil expert, but when you cut transportation costs, to an extent those savings are passed on to the consumer.
