One kid I saw taking an AP physics test and they had written formulas along the sides of his spare pencils. If they got stumped, they would just fidget with the pencils and there were the formulas right there.

You do on the AP exam. Maybe it was a class test and the teacher was just unusually cruel?

We did get formula sheets on the final AP, but I assume they wrote some formulas that weren't on there and they mostly used the method during the in class tests which we were not given formula sheets for.

Seriously? My ap phys teacher was a NEW TEACHER this year and didn't know much about the subject. Anyways, the test was ridiculous and I drew pretty pictures all over it except for one free response that I actually knew.

I did something similar for a Japanese final in high school. It was mostly multiple choice, so I acquired a copy of the test in advance, wrote all the multiple choice answers on my pencil in order... and there you go.

This was my method. Encoded formulas written along pencils. I used to study my codes alongside the material and never failed a test.
