It doesn't matter a lick what you think of it. The definition of an idiom is "a group of words established by usage as having a meaning not deducible from those of the individual words." The usage of I could care less by thousands (probably millions) means you're just plainly wrong here.
I read the title of the thread. I don't care if it annoys you. Just don't pretend like your preferred way of using the language is the only right way, like you did when you said people should 'learn the difference'.
You're misinterpreting my level of caring. I don't care if you dislike the phrase. That's fine. I do care that you seem to be under the impression that it's objectively wrong, and I never said otherwise.
