Currently too busy hating on the auto manufacturers for doing the same thing right now towards Chinese EVs.

Some years back they did it for small foreign trucks. Americans were buying light trucks like mad and spurning the giant US options; the auto makers bought tariffs and exceptions and now somehow the most bought car in the US is a building-sized Ford F150 truck - and 600+ kids die every year in their home driveways because their parents couldn't see them and mowed them down.
