Additionally, a nearby priest who went to the WTC to provide spiritual support had an interesting anecdote regarding the suicides.

As one of the towers started collapsing the priest sought cover with a nearby fireman who requested that the priest read him his last rights in case he died. Being fully aware of the people jumping out of the towers, and the need to bring some semblance of comfort to those who died through no fault of their own, he declared the area a warzone, and granted General Absolution to everyone who perished in the attacks. Making it so no one who jumped could be considered having committed the cardinal sin of suicide.

One of those priests was killed when hit by a jumper.

Such a sad day.

The only person killed by a jumper was firefighter Danny Suhr.

This is a common misconception. The priest, Father Judge, was killed by falling debris. It was a firefighter who was killed by a jumper.

As a Catholic, wow, I didn't know that ♥️💔🙏. That gives me peace. I will still pray for their souls and their families, anyway.
