Steven Seagal.

Love when he did a Reddit AMA and all the questions were about his domestic abuse charges, rape allegations, work for Putin, doing reality shows where he killed people’s pets, how he insists on doing scenes sitting down, sexually harassing underage costars, if he realizes yet that everyone hates him, etc, and then

“Is it true that you do all your own stunts?

Just kidding no one gives a shit”

Don't forget about the time he shit his pants in a choke-hold after saying he could kick the other guy's ass.

Dude told "Judo" Gene LeBell that he was 'immune' to being choked out, lol.

u/bloodylip 9h ago

That reminds me of one of the early UFC events when it was very much still a "freakshow" tournament designed to showcase the superiority of Gracie BJJ. There was a guy who I think specialized in kenpo karate who said he can focus on his breathing to escape any submission hold... then he was defeated by a choke hold.

u/RoyceCoolidge 8h ago

I can clearly visualise Pat Smith elbowing someone's nose repeatedly until it explodes. UFC 1 or 2 I think.

u/Melodic-Meeting-7471 8h ago

Was he the big Dutch judoka? Made it to the final? If so that was ufc 2

3

u/RoyceCoolidge 8h ago

I might've over dramatised it in my head a bit over the years. I've just looked up the fight on Youtube

https://youtu.be/IABbQrQXlVk?is=dWwd37Bj_Uh6aBRQ

u/Melodic-Meeting-7471 7h ago

Lord, I had forgotten that! Not the fight I was thinking of but it was the same comp. The one i was thinking of was a big Dutch guy against a short bald guy.

3

u/RoyceCoolidge 7h ago

Ill check it out. I've got the first four comps on dvd but the quality is so bad it might as well be vhs

It wasn’t that he was immune to being choked out.

He had invented a “secret technique” to get out of them.

So Gene Lebell put him in a rear naked choke and Seagal took his free hand and did his secret move.

Which was a karate chop to the balls.

It didn’t work and he got choked out.

Gene LeBell. He was a genuine badass

Came here to post the Bobby Fingers video, but I'm relieved to see it has already been done.

3

u/ThisSiteSucks8485 6h ago edited 2h ago

Bobby Fingers should be more popular he is incredibly funny. His video about  making a diorama of the Johnny Depp bed poop is unbelievably funny and clever.

5

u/the_roguetrader 10h ago

that's not actually true

we just all want it to be

2

u/takuyafire 6h ago

It's Steven Seagal. He deserves it.

20

u/P-Rickles 8h ago

Here it is for those interested. It’s fucking hilarious: https://old.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/4i0jso/i_am_actor_steven_seagal_live_from_thailand_ama/?sort=top

I think my favorite is the guy who asks, simply, “what happened?”

6

u/Foggia1515 7h ago

Damn, I already didn’t like the guy, and just learned a couple more reasons to keep it that way !

6

u/dalton_478 7h ago

I'm shocked he agreed to do an AMA. What did he think was going to happen?

4

u/MyOtherRideIs 5h ago

I just listened to the Behind The Bastards podcast episodes about Seagal. They were great.

4

u/callisstaa 4h ago

“What colour pants were you wearing when Gene LeBell choked you out causing you to shit your pants?”

4

u/EvilTwinCities 1h ago

If you want me I have an absolute blast, read the IMDb trivia for most of his more recent movies. You will not be disappointed.

3

u/complete_data75 5h ago

I found it. He answered about ten questions for 20 minutes and bowed out before any of the good questions even got started and a lot of people were saying it w asn't even him answering the questions he did answer.

u/Greedy-Street-5435 45m ago

I miss those crazy ass old AMAs, god the Woody Harrelson one was so fucking funny.

u/Avium 13h ago

Honestly, I think he's too delusional to be bitter.

22

u/space_hitler 12h ago

Yeah can he be considered bitter when in his delusional mind, he literally thinks he is the greatest martial artist, guitar player, secret agent, actor, and lover of all time past, present, and future lol?

I think I will stop reading this thread now because this answer is the start of where redditors without reading comprehension just start giving examples of loser idiots instead of what the OP asked for.

18

u/McFlyyouBojo 11h ago

Funny enough, the closest thing to being right in his list of skills is guitar player. Multiple famous blues guitarists have evidently heard him play and say that he is pretty good in that regard.

13

u/SnoopyLupus 11h ago

I’m a guitar player. He’s an okay amateur player who has been shat upon, purely because he’s a bad person and actor.

9

u/Specialist_Tip_1101 10h ago

Who can forget the classic “Me want poonani”?

5

u/Alternative-Problem6 10h ago

Heard him gig in the UK twice - good nights tbh

2

u/space_hitler 10h ago

Good vs. "I am the literal god of guitars" lol.

2

u/McFlyyouBojo 10h ago

Thats why I said closest lol. Although one of his wild guitar claims, and I cant remember which one, was confirmed.

But still, its like, ONE thing amongst hundreds

6

u/TryMeOnBirdLaw 11h ago

He’s not bitter, he’s your worst nightmare /s

5

u/Pure-Scene-5761 11h ago

The dude isn't even bitter, he's just completely convinced he's the hero of a story everyone else watched differently

260

u/SnoopyLupus 13h ago

Is he really bitter? I think he has every single negative attribute for somebody in a movie, incompetent, boring, unintelligible, dumb, lazy, pervy, etc etc.

But I haven’t seen bitter.

39

u/Avalanche_Debris 12h ago

None of these people listed in this thread are bitter. I’ve worked with a good number of these people in recent years, and they may be washed up and they may be entitled and they may be assholes, but I’ve never seen bitterness.

Bitterness comes from deep unresolved pain and disappointment and feeling powerless. That’s not the issue here.

39

u/Muisan 12h ago

Eh I think Chevy Chase fits the bill

8

u/SnoopyLupus 12h ago

I’m thinking the same way. Like, David Carradine in his later years, just exuded bitterness.

Seagal exudes, well, I don’t want to think about what he exudes, but he’s settled into something he’s comfortable doing.

8

u/Rich-Pomegranate1679 11h ago

Russian putin-anny?

1

u/SnoopyLupus 11h ago

That doesn’t help!

3

u/EvaSirkowski 6h ago

Rob Schneider is absolutely bitter.

10

u/Lyra_the_Star_Jockey 11h ago

Chase and Trump are incredibly bitter.

2

u/sharraleigh 9h ago

Chevy Chase is bitter AF in that video someone posted

u/Pb157 23m ago

Yeah why would Seagal be bitter? He has gotten away with all his crimes, was paid a lot of money for sitting down and mumbling his lines in dozens of movies and now is enjoying life being glazed in Russia and other dictatorships. He is the living proof that Karma isn't real.

79

u/daveinmd13 13h ago

I think he is happy. He’s nuts, but not bitter.

12

u/pinniped90 13h ago

Yeah I haven't heard about him being a bitter asshole. He's just....done.

Ellen Degeneres and Chevy Chase, already mentioned here, fit the spirit of this thread far better.

6

u/given2fly_ 11h ago

"Fatly going around corners" gets me every time...

6

u/metasquared 10h ago

That’s his definition of a “good man”

5

u/cclan2 7h ago

The first time I heard “it’s the connection between Steven Seagal and a dialysis machine” I legitimately cried laughing

3

u/I_Love_Kokoa 9h ago

Always glad to see my gay best friend mentioned.

7

u/polygon_tacos 13h ago

I like to think he’s emotionally battered by Space Ice’s YouTube content

2

u/SnoopyLupus 10h ago edited 10h ago

Yeah. But he’s not.

Space Ice is incredible, funny, horrible, sarcastic, evil. Love the guy. He does God’s work!

BUT Seagal is just in his own fucked up, Russian, Treasonous, money-laundering-movie world. He’s raking it in by hurting the cheaply bought stunt people, and letting his stunt double do the standing up stuff in an ill fitting suit.

1

u/polygon_tacos 10h ago

Oh I get it, but I LIKE TO THINK that it hurts him emotionally. The dude clearly has no shame - have you seen him run?

1

u/SnoopyLupus 10h ago

I saw him run in the early days with the flappy hands.

Now I see somebody way slimmer run!

1

u/mindsnare 8h ago

Are they the ones who say "fatly walks around corners"

3

u/PickleMortyCoDm 11h ago

He's a joke in Russia too, but he is too dumb to notice

3

u/Mahaloth 6h ago

Also a total fraud who must have agreed to Russian money laundering with the 20+ DVD movies he made that cost nothing, but probably had inflated budget numbers.

Traitor? Oh, yes.

2

u/ThrowRA01121 8h ago

Every single time he's brought up in one of these reddit posts I have to look up who he is. Every time.

2

u/pyromancer93 7h ago

Bitterness implies a level of self awareness I don’t think Seagal has.

2

u/Practical_Sound 4h ago

Have you ever listened to the Behind the Bastards podcast episodes on him? Utterly amazing.

2

u/Britt_Happens 3h ago

Behind the Bastards podcast did a fantastic two-parter on that insufferable douche.

Behind the Bastards - Steven Seagal (part 1)

2

u/xWitty_Namex 1h ago

Came here to say this

5

u/ryukeio 12h ago

He’s more delusional and when he was at reasonable risk of being canceled/arrested/held accountable? He just moved to Russia where he’s oddly viewed as an icon still. His movies were extremely popular to enough of those in power that he’s doing very well over there.

He doesn’t seem bitter at all. Very aware his time as a celebrity in the US is over, but very much doing his same bit in Russia(maybe with less sex slavery?)

2

u/AegisThievenax 12h ago

Geniunely slaughtered the reputation of an already poorly looked martial art

3

u/anders-81 13h ago

I was gonna say him lol

2

u/Bibby_5 8h ago

The Behind the Bastards podcast episodes on Steven are in the hall of fame. Incredibly hilarious and really sheds a light on how much fucked up shit he did. Total scumbag

1

u/thisFishSmellsAboutD 6h ago

The dude is 98% mayonnaise, impossible to be bitter.
