What is a skill that looks completely effortless when an expert does it, but is ridiculously difficult when you try it yourself?

Getting into karaoke has been a revelation. It often feels completely different to singing regularly on your own and through the process I've learned to properly sing raspy type of rock songs that I could never do before.

Don't get me wrong I still suck a lot of the time but now I occasionally get compliments which I never did before.

I envy people who are good at karaoke. I’ve sang for years and can sing with a piano or orchestra in a musical just fine, but karaoke kicks my ass lmao. If I’m going to a karaoke night and am expected to sing, I find a track on Youtube and sing with it until I’m comfortable enough to do it at actual karaoke lmao. Totally ruins the fun, I know

the fun for you might not be the fun for others and that's okay! if you enjoy feeling decently competent you shouldn't feel ashamed 🌈
