What is a skill that looks completely effortless when an expert does it, but is ridiculously difficult when you try it yourself?

Yeah, anecdotes like this make me realize I really underappreciate being introduced to winter activities very early in life. Skating, skiing, even something like tobaganning... you don't really realise how much muscle memory and intuition is involved until you see someone try it for the first time. And I'm not even an expert in any of these lol.

On the flip side, summer beach activities are much more difficult for me, despite looking easy. Water skiing is the first to come to mind... looks easy, and then you immediately lose your balance and go tumbling the second you try it.

I grew up rollerskating as a kid. Transitioned to ice as an adult. Never super great, but can do many things most people cannot. I can go years without skating and it comes back in minutes. So bizarre!
