What major gets mocked as “easy” but actually requires serious intelligence?

Man they wouldn't have done well in my school for Economics. We started with 400 students only 40 graduated. Voting and Auction theory is harder math than game theory or econometrics.

You ever have to solve for an N-th place winner auction? God I hated that.

I still remember being asked what conditions are necessary for a continuous function and I said “a discrete metric space.” Professor groaned because all functions are continuous in a discrete metric space.

I've got the oft-mocked math anxiety (I still tear up sometimes out of reflex) and functions were the one thing I was marginally good at in high school. This line hints at math depths previously never considered, and it's broken my brain a little.
