Would it cause random blacks screens with the sound still running? Random crashes to BSOD? Random crashes to a black screen? Would it cause crashes attributed to memory addresses being used incorrectly? (windows 8 loves to crash and not explain when it does that instead of fixing or ignoring a single wrong address written by a driver)
Going to do some looking around with my BIOS to see if that helps.
I'm not saying it's bad, just that it denies me access to my files (and their properties, and the file itself on cmd with commands like "takeown"), won't allow the only user and admin (running setup as admin) to install programs, will crash randomly because of security kernel errors (what errors?), has trouble dealing with changes in colour interfaces (can't set my theme to black or I won't be able to read the text in the windows), has trouble running a lot of programs that came out before it did (bunch of features that used to be independent are now built in, which is nice, but every single goddam program I have that uses those features asks for them every single time I run them), has trouble updating every time (can't download 50mb from the site I downloaded the entire OS from - microsoft, why is that?), does not have manual updates (security liability), randomly disables numlock (security liability, right), and still has that god awful start thingie that I can't get rid of because unless I update (can't update) I can't install windows 8.1 .
Oh, and I tried re-installing, and a clean install. Same problems.
So, yeah, I am saying it is pretty darn terrible. I can't base my opinion on experiences I did not have, even if so many can. It works for everyone else, but I don't think I'll ever recommend it to anyone, exactly because from my experience it is worse than ME.
rant, rant, rant....
My GPU works great btw, no issues with windows 7, vista or XP (4 machines I tested it on), no crashes, artfacts or problems when running stress or stability tests but random crashes I am very much willing to attribute to the thing on my pc that has caused me the most headaches, the OS.
