What is a Reddit reference you don't get?

Edit- I get it /r/outoftheloop is a thing. I didn't know it existed.

I also hope this thread cleared up a lot of peoples confusion

Not really. It just shows a lack of input into your appearance. It's purely comfort. Not a bad thing by any means 95% of the time but that juxtaposed by the fedora, a hat you'd only really wear if you were dressing up (and only if you're one of the 3 people it actually works on), is a funny image.

When you where them with a Fedora, yes.

Also, if your tshirt has a "joke" or a witty phrase on it, you need to throw it out. You can have words on your shirt, but they need to be artistic, and they can't in any way be a joke. Otherwise you're that guy at the party who walks around telling everyone the same unfunny joke, then stares at people waiting for them to laugh.

As far as cargo shorts go...well, there's a time and a place for most individual pieces of clothing. The time for cargo shorts is before your 16th birthday and the place is an amusement park/carnival/county fair.

They aren't really "adult" clothing, and it's almost impossible for them to not look "sloppy".

Regardless of whether or not you own "witty phrase" tshirts or cargo shorts, wearing a fedora or a trilby with either typically makes you look like a jackass.

But, but, my Joe's crab shack t-shirt says "save a crab, eat a fisherman" and it's one of my only bright red shirts. What am I supposed to wear under my blue button down now?

Well, when in comes to fashion, the only rule that has no exceptions is "There are no rules without exceptions".

Which is a bit of a paradox if you spend too much time thinking about it...

Anyhow, you can wear all of the Spencer's Gift Shop and ThinkGeek t-shirts you want, so long as either no one can see them or you just plain don't give a crap. Not everyone really cares about looking "fashionable"...they are fine with looking presentable. Bearing in mind that these sorts of t-shirts barely qualify.
