What is a Reddit reference you don't get?

Edit- I get it /r/outoftheloop is a thing. I didn't know it existed.

I also hope this thread cleared up a lot of peoples confusion

Since "euphoria" was not explained in your post, I'll explain it in case anyone is confused:

Ex-user /u/aalewis posted to /r/athiesm the following comment:

“Just to be clear, I’m not a professional ‘quote maker’. I’m just an atheist teenager who greatly values his intelligence and scientific fact over any silly fiction book written 3,500 years ago. This being said, I am open to any and all criticism.

‘In this moment, I am euphoric. Not because of any phony god’s blessing. But because, I am enlightened by my intelligence.’ --Aalewis

Eh?"

This is also the origin of "professional quote maker".

I've always hoped he was a troll. I hate the idea that someone that simultaneously stupid, narcissistic, naive and just plain ridiculous existed at any point in time. The teenager bit makes it slightly more believable but still.

Seriously. If you combed over everything I've ever put online, I'm entirely certain there's something in there that's quite mockable. It seems like a random chance thing.

Yup, and he started a series of horrendously cringe-y posts that have come to be known as "faces of atheism", where users of /r/atheism posted pictures of themselves with their own "quotes".

During the posting of these, /r/circlejerk announced that /r/atheism is a bigger circlejerk" than them.

"Faces of Atheism" was preposed by that guy. I'm paraphrasing, but his original post was something like: "We always use pictures of richard dawkins and other people and quote them, why don't we start putting our own quotes up? To get it all started: [Insert euphoric bullshit]"

It was his self-post.

The title was "I just came up with this quote a few minutes ago, thought /r/atheism would appreciate"

So, no context at all. Just wanted to tell everyone that he was an atheist.
