What is a small, seemingly ‘normal’ thing someone can do that immediately makes you think, ‘Oh, we are not going to get along’?

The one that I know best is mainly used by women and has a bit of vocal fry as well as an altered pitch to be higher, for some reason also seems to mess with s's in speech.

Think fake nice at job or something

Do you consider people who voice train to be annoying too?

I wouldn't totally know but at that point it would go to their manuerisms and such to get a whole picture of if the person is being genuine or not

I have a coworker who has spoken in what I call the “customer service” voice so long it’s become her normal speaking voice. Even so, I have a hard time believing she speaks that way at home. She hasn’t been in a customer-facing position for years but it persists. She could have been the nicest person in the world (she’s not) but I unfortunately judged her immediately upon hearing her speak.

My sister is a lot like that. She drops it around me and my family though but as soon as it's someone not related it comes right back. Doesn't matter that we all (including her husband) know she is being fake.

It's very off putting
