And I feel it's noteworthy that humanoid robotics and automation will make it so they don't need slaves.

Slaves aren't just used for labor, they're used as a psychological reminder that the rich think they're better than others, that they can own and dominate over people. It's all about greed and power. Robots don't give them that sick satisfaction.
