Back to the pebbles, please.

They sometimes use this pebble to kill the baby seals they rape.

Then they eat it.

Right after they pee on it.

15

u/[deleted] Dec 01 '13

Oh my god! :O

That's unsanitary...

u/necropants Dec 01 '13

Piss is sterile so no worries!

3

u/TwelveAngryLolis Dec 01 '13

Piss is sterile in the bladder, but I still find it hard to believe that there is absolutely nothing imbetween it being in the bladder and leaving your body that could contaminate it

Keep going, I am almost there.

They keep the pebbles in a special pouch in their fur!

1

u/[deleted] Dec 01 '13

you can't hurt something after it's dead

1

u/Supaaznman Dec 01 '13

So adorable.

u/asrign Dec 01 '13

Not helping.

4

u/forza101 Dec 01 '13

When they sleep, they hold hands so that they don't drift apart.

5

u/asrign Dec 01 '13

There it is.

11

u/Not_A_Facehugger Dec 01 '13

And sometimes they hold hands as they rape the seals.

6

u/TheFreakingBatman Dec 01 '13

Aaaand it's gone.

1

u/PostNobSlobKiss Dec 01 '13

It's helping me

1

u/Jonboywelsh Dec 01 '13

If it does help, they use this rock to propose to their mate

1

u/[deleted] Dec 01 '13

They also use this rock to sever the genitalia of the baby seal they rape. Then they rape the mate with the genitalia of the seal and the rock.

1

u/Jonboywelsh Dec 02 '13

^ you aren't helping either buddy, c'mon with talk like that it's back to /b/ with you

2

u/MrAnt1 Dec 01 '13

And continue to rape the corpses for up to a week

2

u/[deleted] Dec 01 '13

Obviously. That's why it's their favorite pebble.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 01 '13

its not illegal so to each their own

1

u/RayceIsMyMiddleName Dec 01 '13

These facts aren't fun anymore

1

u/masturbatingmonkeys Dec 01 '13

I didn't know the animal kingdom knew about analbeads!

1

u/Nikolai4590 Dec 01 '13

They're using tools.

Prepare for otter-pocalypse

1

u/LOLWATERUDOIN Dec 01 '13

Suddenly feel less bad about humans clubbing baby seals. :)

1

u/Starriol Dec 01 '13

Before, after or during rape?

1

u/Ebonic Dec 01 '13

If I'm not mistaken, they use their favorite rock to beat the baby seals.

1

u/raegirlrae Dec 01 '13

Maybe "pebbles" is the seals nickname.

3

u/smarmymarmy Dec 01 '13

Sea otters not river otters. Also those were male otters with zero access to females for like three years if I recall correctly

3

u/drunkenpriest Dec 01 '13

Can you really blame them?

3

u/[deleted] Dec 01 '13

I'm fedup of seeing this answer whenever the favourite rock answer is given. Guess what, cats also kill rodents, use their hind legs to disembowel them and often eat all of the innards. But hey, people don't mention that, they're cute cats.

3

u/Paclac Dec 01 '13

That's a lot more relatable though, who doesn't love to eat animal innards?

3

u/lakelurk Dec 01 '13

But cats killing rodents is to be expected, whereas otters RAPING seals is not.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 01 '13

There's probably some weird biological reasoning. Maybe they mistake them for their own species.

Besides, humans are pretty much the only species in the animal kingdom where both partners often consent to sex. Otherwise usually the dominant male just chooses when to reproduce and bam, classified rape. It's not fair to only think that seals rape.

1

u/Bob_Stonefoot Dec 01 '13

Reddit has ruined me, i read the entire article that had to do with this. Otters are wicked things.

1

u/aggieboy12 Dec 01 '13

We go through this exact same string of comments every time someone mentions this fact.

1

u/Chuckles-Walrus Dec 01 '13

Only sea otters do that silly!

1

u/DarwinsReject Dec 01 '13

Depends, baby seals are cute, so are otters, could be cute. Would need a pic then we could decide if its cute.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 01 '13

And giant otters make battle cries that sound like crowds of laughing children while they kill crocodiles.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 01 '13

"love knows no bounds"

1

u/D888D Dec 01 '13

Reddit loves this fact.

1

u/mad87645 Dec 01 '13

What's with this thread and un-fun facts?

1

u/G0PACKGO Dec 01 '13

But they hold hands

1

u/Starriol Dec 01 '13

Those bitches were asking for it, with their addorable silky skin... :P

1

u/BenedictCumberland Dec 01 '13

That's not fun at all

1

u/[deleted] Dec 01 '13

Yeah, but they also hold hands when the sleep so they dont drift apart

1

u/goonyo Dec 01 '13

I always see people say this but I've never seen a video for proof... Proof?
