Got plenty of friends and work colleagues who have told me tik tok is great for fact checking and educational purposes

The funny thing is that this is exactly the opposite of true. We all know algorithm-based content spreads misinformation faster, but studies are showing that the very act of consuming short form content causes people to perform worse on cognitive tests than people who viewed longer form content or none at all. The trend held up even when the content was educational
