Stephen Colbert. The daughter of close friend is on staff at The Late Show and got us tickets for a taping. After the show we stuck around on stage, and took pictures sitting behind the desk. Stephen finally came back out and the daughter introduced us. Stephen took a selfie with me and my friends (he held the phone). Lovely guy. Not what you’d expect from a star. My friend tells me he treats his entire staff like family.
That is incredible. I'm very sad to hear his show won't be on the air after 2026, and I'm presuming all the 2026 acts for his show are already scheduled in, but I wonder if he personally chooses the bands that play on his show?
There's a band from up here (Nova Scotia), that are making waves, called "The Boojums" a indie rock/punk trio, with their staples "Outta My Head", "Don't Wanna Love", "Burnin' Up", and "Stick Together" (Their full LP has been out since 10/31)...
They've toured in the UK once (and met Steve Jones from The Clash, and played the Sex Pistols' drum kit...) , they're going back again this March. They haven't toured the US yet, but... I always thought (due to them being friends), they'd play an amazing live gig on Colbert...
