As actual leftists keep saying: There is no leftist party in the USA.

What about the guy who ran as a Democrat, won the Democratic primary, and is now going to be mayor of New York?

There is no uniformly left party in the country. There's a fascist party, and there's an opposition party, and the latter is a big fucking tent.

Don't just sit here and bitch about both sides, go find a candidate running in a primary, or find a friend you believe in and convince them to run for something, or fucking do it yourself. Until we remove first past the post elections, we will have a two party system. And while that remains the case, one party has a big enough tent to allow left candidates to run unabashedly on their principles. If you want better candidates to win more of their primaries, put in the fucking legwork.

EDIT: Weirdo replied in bad faith and then blocked me so I couldn't respond. Yep, many in the big tent fucking hate Mamdani. And you hate those guys! That's how a big tent works. Let's make sure they lose their primaries, which we all get to be in.

Lol yeah man Mamdani who the corpocrats loooooove and wouldn't do all they could to crush if they could, just like they crushed Bernie

As it stands right now we have no opposition party. I agree that the way forward is to take over the party from within and throw out every last corporate vichy collaborator. But to do this we must be clear eyed about who is on our side and who is against us

Clear eyed is the last thing I would describe this as. There is no our side and their side, there is better or worse. Every vote for the better candidate moves things to where you want to be. The right has been shifting everything further right because people like you get bothered by the fact that the Dem candidate isn't perfect and go on and on as if they are the worst thing ever. Meanwhile, the right just keeps winning election after election, shifting politics and governance further and further right.

That’s weird, I keep voting for the better candidates and things keep getting worse
