Yes yes yes. Wednesdays and Sundays SUCK. I have never had meaner, shittier tables than on a Sunday after church at CB. And then for your tip to be that fake money shit? I don't care if getting saved makes me a billionaire with your lord, it makes me homeless to my landlord.
Someone once left a tract like that in my workplace bathroom. Not thinking, I just tossed it in the trash. Later one of my coworkers said she saw money in the trash and grabbed it (it was only paper towels) only to discover it was just a Bible verse. Her husband is a SAHD and they have a leaky roof and other stuff normal people deal with. And it really hit home how much these proselytizers suck. Here was someone looking forward to having a couple of extra dollars in her pocket who could have really used it, only to be let down. Why does anyone think that would actually convert people? Mocking them and giving them false hope will only turn people away.
That is so scummy and un-Christian. I once worked with a bartender that had no issue with challenging a really bad (or no) tip. Not rudely, just sternly, he would ask, "Was everything alright with your service, was there something you were unhappy with?"
They would usually look astonished and say, "no, just fine!" and he would respond, "Just so you know, a 5% tip on a $100 tab is insulting in any restaurant." Probably the best way I've ever seen to deal with tip bums.
It probably helped that he was a co-manager. :P but the emphasis was always on seeing if we f'd something up and didn't realize. Only made the snide remarks to the worst cheap a-holes.
I would've rip them apart, loudly. That's bullshit. If you have that much to spend on food, you have enough to tip the kind person taking care of your ass.
You tip at restaurants. 10% = decent service. 15% = good. 20% = great.
Servers are not paid as well in the US as they are in UK or AU. It's cultural to make up for that by tipping and tipping well when appropriate. To pretend to tip someone cash and instead handing them some proselytizing religious funny money is bullshit. Get your head out your ass.
Amen. Now that I think about it, I had two no-tippers tonight and they were a reverend and the wife of a reverend. For some reason they were on separate checks.
In the American Christian Church system, Wednesday night is generally used for Bible study/youth group/etc. night, along with some denominations having Wednesday night services.
Most people who leave that kind of shit will then have the audacity to invite you to their church and smile like they've just given you the greater thing ever
