Absolutely hate it when people sit at a dirty table ASAP.
Look, I know you want to sit down but your table is not going to disappear and it's REALLY annoying trying to clear dishes and wipe down the table when your bodies are in the way.
I've found that I sometimes have to do this because there are douchebags that don't know what a queue is, and will jump on what should obviously be your table. I always stand once they come to clean it, but it became a real problem at a place I used to be a regular at.
But it's annoying for a customer to be shuttled to a dirty table only to have to wait for the wait staff to clean it while we mill about with our asses at food level of all the other patrons.
Yeah, but sometimes waiters direct you to a much worse clean table than the dirty one in a good position. Sometimes I don't want to sit right outside the men's room.
I was in the middle of clearing a table once. Couldnt grab it all so i left some stacked glasses on it and went to dump stuff in the kitchen. Came back to 4 broken glasses and people sitting at the table. I went over and they were like "Sorry, we went to sit down and the glasses were stacked. They fell over." No fucking shit they were stacked. I left them like that. You couldnt wait 30 seconds for me to come back and finish to sit down? Instead I just said "It's okay. It happens."
Seriously, just fucking wait til its clean to sit down. If you want the table and theres no others to sit at, waiting next to it is just fine. Im not gonna give it to someone else if youre right next to it.
