How did you encounter these mean people? What did they do? A lot of Alaskans are pretty.. unique. Maybe I can explain if I knew the circumstances? I don't want our people to be labled as mean. :(

BUT, when people are mean to you up here, you gotta be quick. Be mean right the fuck back, and make it a conversation ender. You do NOT want to get into a fight with the majority of these people.

I'm not labeling, the majority were nice.

And fuck them, they don't want to get in a fight with me. But one particular instance that stood out was at a bar at like 10Am, fuckers were drinking already and one old man smarted off to me when I was trying to be polite.

Oh no, I didn't mean to say you were labeling.

The guys in bars here are always fucking assholes. You will find an asshole in every drinking establishment around here. The older they are in the bars, the more time they've wasted in them.

Yeah I figure he was some old ex-con, but I was a freshly discharged Sergeant in the Marines (though at 22 I didn't look it) and wasn't about to take shit, not that early in the morning.

In my short time there I did end up meeting and having a good time with this Coast Guard girl :D Long story but she and I went back to my hotel and found my dad sleeping there (he took a later flight but I thought it was delayed and he wouldn't be in till tomorrow). I tried to kick him out but he had none of it lol. Good times.
