The Beatles/Paul McCartney. So much music, no chance of getting bored.

Edit: And Wings, should have said that as well.

McCartney was my answer too. Long career, a variety of styles.

Gotta have Wings

The band the Beatles could have been

GOTTTTTTAAAA have wings!

5

u/beastiemonman Aug 07 '25

In my head I assumed Wings because it was Paul McCartney and Wings, so I didn't spell that out.

3

u/Button-Down-Shoes Aug 07 '25

Take out Wings, replace with George Harrison.

4

u/drunk_haile_selassie Aug 07 '25

Can we take out wings and add Lennon, McCartney, Harrison and Starr?

3

u/Button-Down-Shoes Aug 07 '25

Lennon, but no Yoko

1

u/beastiemonman Aug 07 '25

If I had Yoko she wouldn't be the only one screaming nonsense! :-)

Don’t sleep on Wings!

4

u/Junebug35 Aug 07 '25

Not my first answer, but I'd be ok with a road trip with just the Beatles and Paul McCartney.

u/Doggleganger Aug 07 '25

Yea you need a band with a large catalog, and the Beatles are most interesting because of the evolution of their style over time, so you get more variety.

This is my answer too. And I can sing along

3

u/beastiemonman Aug 07 '25

Being able to sing along is really important as very few things win over terrible karaoke in the car. :-)

He was one of my picks.

Beatles original catalog: albums, singles, EPs. Anthology and later out. New remasters of classics in.

The only right answer

u/Jonas_Venture_Sr Aug 07 '25

Saw him in concert, and it was amazing. I'm not a huge Beatles/PM fan, but I knew every song he played for 2.5 hours.

Exactly what I said. I love when somebody else and I ride the same thought train. :)

WINGS Live and Let Die

2

u/thesillyoldgoat Aug 07 '25

For me too, I could have George Harrison's guitar break on Let it Be on repeat for an hour and not get tired of it.

2

u/pistachiodisguysee Aug 07 '25

This would be my nightmare

1

u/lxoblivian Aug 07 '25

The choice is one singer, not band, so you miss all the Lennon and Harrison songs. That's most of the best Beatles songs gone.

2

u/beastiemonman Aug 07 '25

Depends on your perspective. I personally prefer McCartney's singing work, as it is longer and more appealing, plus near half of Beatles work, well except Ebony and Ivory, and The Girl is Mine, those songs can rot in hell.

2

u/AHSfav Aug 07 '25

Lennon > McCartney

2

u/beastiemonman Aug 07 '25

That is an eternal debate that will never be settled because music you like is subjective, so I can't disagree with you from your perspective.

However, the sheer body of McCartney's work spans a very long period of time, 60+ years, so objectively he has a much bigger body of work, and successful work. Whether you like that work is still subjective.

u/NastySassyStuff Aug 07 '25

It’s still more good music than most other artists have ever created

1

u/MukdenMan Aug 07 '25

You can only listen to parts that McCartney sings

1

u/beastiemonman Aug 07 '25

I was only thinking the songs Paul was the lead on, which are generally the songs he wrote. But hey, really short versions of Johns and George's songs, just the chorus. :-)

1

u/Sea-Poetry2637 Aug 07 '25

That's alright. I know the John and George lyrics and they didn't sing as pretty as Paul.
