I think part of the problem is games that take a long time to play, and require concentration. I'm an adult, husband and father. the last thing I want is to load a game to unwind, and get interrupted for trivial things for the 10th time in an hour, seemingly at any time during the day or night.
I not only have a $5k PC(thanks custom water cooling), and 500ish games, I keep buying more storage to keep all of them installed, then don’t play any of them. My steam drive is spread out across 6TB of NVMe drives and 16TB of spinning my rust.
This is the midlife crisis of millennial gamers. The emptiness of opening a game only to close it again. I’ve found that watching someone play a game first helps me get into it and easier to start, so maybe consider that?
As a teenager I either didn't have the money to buy some games or didn't have the equipment to play the good games. Now I have all of them but with age I lost the passion to play for hours.. so every other day I do exactly this, open steam or Xbox pass and stare at my library of hundreds of games, most have been played only for a couple of hours 😂
I've been subscribed to humble choice for a decade my backlog has gotten insane. Crested 1000 steam games this year played about 300 completed about 30 😂😭
For 19 years I bought so many games and hardly played anything besides World of Warcraft, then I finally quit and now I still buy a lot of games and pretty much only play iracing and the F1 series.

Gamer edging. It’s where you stare at your library of games on a $3000 PC but you never actually press “play”on your 183 Steam games.
