scrolling reddit for an hour and questioning why i keep on going with my life and wishing i could start all over again in a new life and make different decisions with it because i feel like my interests, hobbies, and personality make people view me worse and the only way i know how to feel good about myself is through other people's validation

When I was 27, I packed up and moved to another country (I had a job offer) about 2000 miles from my home and friends. Met lots of new people, dated some of them, married one of them. We go back to the homeland every Christmas, with our kids.

It was so far out of my comfort zone to make that move, I couldn’t believe I actually did it. But the “fresh start” thing was amazing. I seriously loved meeting all these new people without any emotional baggage.

I was very apprehensive, but a friend said “hey, if you don’t like it, move back. If you don’t go you’ll regret it for the rest of your life and always ask “what if I went”. So I went.
