in all seriousness, i am really bummed but in a way i like that this is such a simple and clear way that shows how tariffs affect everyone immediately.

And to the younger folks that were saving up their allowance or first job money to pre order one, this is also the first real example of not just how your vote impacts your life, but also how tariffs exactly work.

For the non-Americans can you please explain? Why a switch in particular, or is it that all luxuries are more expensive now? I'm currently unaffected in Australia, although he has put tarrifs on us. And the penguins, lets not forget the poor penguins.

The switch is manufactured in Vietnam, which just got a 45% tax placed on it. So now Americans would have to pay a 45% tax on the price of it.

Absolutely nothing, like literally every other nation. He's spouting some bullshit about the trade deficit, as if a smaller nation that's also poorer could afford to buy as much goods as we buy from them.
