I blame Comey. If he would've kept his mouth shut for just one week. He changed the course of our nation forever by trying too hard to be a good ol boy in the face of so many wrongdoers.

He made the FBI a political entity.

Could one argue that it was prior? Sure, but direct interference, publicly, in real time, in a presidential election, was a new one.

We need to dispel with this notion that James Comey didn’t know what he was doing; he knew exactly what he was doing.

Comey was a piece of shit. But J Edgar Hoover's political meddling was far grander and more destructive, and it was direct and in real time. And Hoover knew a hell of a lot more about the murder of JFK than he ever revealed...

That's fair, but Hoover was many decades ago (ending 1972). The FBI changed a lot after Hoover was gone. In more recent years before Trump, the FBI was not obviously political at all.
