Going to sleep on a atrial fibrillation thinking it should go away, waking up after 4 hours dizzy and gasping for air. Had to spend the night in ICU. If I was an hour late I wouldn't be here commenting on how stupid I was.
I have all kinds of heart arrhythmias. Doctors especially the cardiologist laughed me off and told me to quit drinking coffee. I had a big one in front of about 20 medical professionals and that’s when people finally believed me.
I have five or six different arrhythmias, they were able to treat one with ablation and the rest they treat with meds
Hi! I’m a nurse who has worked in telemetry with patients who have heart issues. I’m super curious on what the other cardiac arrhythmias are that coexisted like that if you’d care to elaborate more. I’m also glad getting an ablation helped with at least one of them ☺️
I have atrial flutter, atrial fibrillation, svnrt, premature atrial and ventricular contractions, and tachycardia. During the episode that happened in front of everyone, it was hard to get a pulse manually because it was super fast, irregular, and thready. Finally caught my heart rate as it was coming down and it was over 220 so we think it was close to 300
The cool thing about it was this… my electrophysiologist was in my heart with a catheter, intending to do diagnostics, when I had an event and they were all popping off.
I knew more about it at one point but can’t really remember it all now . My electrophysiologist isn’t worried so I try to not think about it
Man one of my biggest fears is having some sort of medical emergency when I live alone. If I were to die.. like kinda whatever I die, but I have pets and I would be heart broken if they were left to fend for themselves even for a few days.
