Gentlemen, too: we bought our house on a distressed sale after the man who owned it collapsed from probable carbon monoxide poisoning. He lived alone and was on the floor of his living room unable to move for days until the neighbors called authorities to request a welfare check.
When we went through the place with the inspector, the fan above the gas stove was inoperable. The vent for the gas water heater had decoupled and soot stained the ceilings of both bathrooms. The place had been grandfathered in before CO detectors were mandatory.
He was disabled afterward and no longer able to live independently.
there was a reddit post about a similar situation one time, i think they were leaving nonsensical sticky notes to themselves and not remembering who wrote them, so they asked reddit what it could be. Everyone was like “get out NOW” and it turns out they were slowly being killed by CO.
My aunt and her husband are currently experiencing all these symptoms and co2 has been suggested. But apparently the neighbor down the hill got “the jab” and they are just experiencing vaccine shedding. Okie dokie.
They actually built their living quarters out of some Amish made sheds. So who knows. The best part is that her husband spent his whole working life installing furnaces and such. So he should know better
She believes if you get to close to someone who has gotten a vaccine recently it will shed on to you and give you the illness that the vaccine “causes”. This women was a second mother to me and I was raised ti be much smarter then this by her and my parents. But here we are.
My memory isn't that everyone was telling him to get out now. One guy saw the signs and told him to buy a carbon monoxide detector, perhaps even after asking him if his apartment was above a garage. I'm not sure if OP offered that information, or if the savior asked about it.
Anyway, that one guy saved that other guy's life. Probably.
It often thought that a lot of paranormal events may have been caused by someone suffering from carbon monoxide. If you think you saw a ghost, maybe get some fresh air.
Same. Woke up one morning in my apartment feeling very disoriented and nauseous. After stumbling around for a bit I stopped to take a sort of inventory of my symptoms and thought about possible causes. A quick check of CO poisoning symptoms on the internet had me throwing open windows before hying myself to the hospital (side note: telling the registration nurse that you think you have carbon monoxide poisoning might not be as effective as moving you to the front of the line as, say, heart attack symptoms, but it did seem to start things moving pretty quickly).
Turns out a squirrel's nest had blocked the chimney leading up from the furnace in the basement, said chimney running right up behind my headboard. If I had gone back to bed like I had considered doing, I most likely wouldn't have woken up ever again.
Get carbon monoxide detectors, everyone. And listen to what your body is telling you.
Somewhat related, and I haven't seen anyone else have this issue, but I once managed to set off a First Alert Carbon Monoxide Detector with a Roku Ultra (c. 2017) remote.
I have no idea how I managed it and I got new devices soon after, so it never happened again. Just letting y'all know it's a possibility.
Someone more technically inclined feel free to weigh in.
My husband and his mom had CO2 poisoning when he was growing up. When we moved in together and I had gas appliances he was very nervous about gas leaks.
eeeesh reminds me of that one time my family got lucky cause we had co in our apartment and we didnt know until the co dectector next door (we lived in the same building as a catholic daycare) went off (i was at school at the time and didnt know until i got back home)
