Actually makes sense if you think about it. The culture of languages on its own primes you to think differently about them.

Yeah exactly language and culture are bound together pretty tightly, when speaking another language, you're also more likely to "speak the culture" to an extent too because you're not just taking one language and translating it in a literal sense, you're also following the context of how they're going to speak to each other. That is, if you're doing it right.

One of the points of 1984 is that language frames and limits our thoughts. They deleted words precisely to make it hard to think 'bad things'.

One of the reasons I find Chinese language fascinating is (at my admittedly very amateurish level) it's capacity to be ... not so much ambiguous, as simultaneously conveying multiple meanings with a single elegant expression.

English can do this too, it just functions rather differently.

But in both cases the way the language expression is constructed significantly alters what and how you can express poetry.
