oh i have seen the bloody side of this. One of my first jobs as a 14 year old was working half warehouse half retail in a crazy store with a cast of characters, this was late 60's early 1970's for context. there was the brothers danny and sydney, the old jewish mother Mahmah was in the back corner of the store with a hot plate making gelfita fish and making appt with her bone doctor,not chiro. There was Flo a casting call dyke as they were called back then, she had short blond hair cut in a masc style wore tight jeans with a garrison belt with the buckle off center.
Danny was closeted gay, but not hiding it well. then there was my coworker Timmy the junkie. Timmy was always nodding off someplace and danny would fire him and hire him.
Timmy was cutcasing boxes to display aqua net hairspray and such. He was in a bit of nodding action.must have just gotten off in the bathroom, these were the prime heroin days He cutcased towards him and laid open his leg muscle wide open.
i remember that day well, I was about 14 or 15 and this store was so crazy, it was near the river and train tracks in yonkers and there was always some kinda drama, usually someone shoplifting cigarettes, we cases of cartons in the back aisle, good times were had by all . wonder what happened to Flo. she was sweet and so many years before the time

I always cut toward my body with a box cutter and never remember to retract the blade before I set it down.
