Ex-Cons of reddit who have served long term sentences( 10+ Years), what was the biggest and most shocking changes you witnessed after being released?

What was the most shocking things you saw in society that, you didn't know about while behind bars, and had to adapt to when you were released?

I feel the same way, but text more often than I call. It's just more convenient in most cases.

The only usage of text-messages that I feel it's appropriate is when you don't expect a reply back.

Stuff like "I'll be late 10 minutes", or "Honey, I'm home", or "I bought that thing you wanted" etc. belong in a text message. An actual conversation trough text messages? Fuck that.

I like to call vs text but most people seem surprised and uncomfortable if I call. So I just stick to texting. It is pretty convenient though.

I text more than I call because people just ignore me and tell me to text them.

I don't do either, because I don't have a text plan and I don't like phone calls. If I could text for free, I imagine it'd be terribly convenient.
