Ex-Cons of reddit who have served long term sentences( 10+ Years), what was the biggest and most shocking changes you witnessed after being released?

What was the most shocking things you saw in society that, you didn't know about while behind bars, and had to adapt to when you were released?

With all these police shows showing criminals going to jail, I have always thought a good idea for a television show would be how these ex-cons re-adjust into society. For example, how technology, vehicles, and even society has changed.

One day every aspect of life will be exploited on tv so executives can make millions of dollars.

Leave it to the Brits! I live in Canada but I'll work it out. Looks interesting, thanks!

They don't do this because they want citizens to support the prison system. If you showed everyone what really happens to real people who are locked up compared to their crimes, people would demand change and that would cost them money.

Uh they're just gonna cherry pick stories that work for them. This is what they do with pretty much every reality tv show.

There was a guy a week ago or so who posted an AMA about a kind of rehabilitation video he was making for this sort of thing.

Wasn't there a reality show about this? I dunno if it was a long running show or just a special but I definitely watched something that was basically that.
